INGREDIENTS
2 puff pastry sheets
Nutella
Strawberries
1 tbsp Sugar
1 Egg
Powdered sugar
Heart shaped cookie cutter
Directions
Start with thawing the puff pastry, instructions should be listed on the box.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
While the pastry is thawing, cut up about 8 strawberries into small pieces.
Add in one tablespoon of sugar to the strawberries, mix, and set aside for 10 minutes. Drain the extra juice after 10 minutes.
Roll out the first sheet of puff pastry.
Use the stencil to cut out hearts.
Lay the hearts on a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Use a small spoon to put the nutella in the center of each heart.
Top with the pieces of strawberries.
Make sure to keep the filling in the center of the heart.
Cut out the same number of hearts from the second sheet of puff pastry.
Lay the second heart on top of the bottom heart to cover the filling.
Use a fork to press down the edges.
Brush the top with a beaten egg.
Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
As they cool they should deflate a bit.
Top with powdered sugar, decorate as your heart desires, and enjoy warm!
